Audiology Day 2016
The Audiology Student Day is now a tradition immortalized by the audiology master’s degree students of the University of Montreal. Every year, the students organize a day of conferences offered to the professionals and to audiology and speech and langage pathology students. This day offers the access to new knowledge in the domain and allows the professional training. Furthermore, the event allows to finance the audiology master’s degree students so that they can attend the big annual convention of the American Association of Audiology (AAA) which will take place next April to Phoenix in Arizona.
The Audiology Student Day – Edition 2016 will be held on January 22nd, 2016 at the Speech and Langage Pathology and Audiology School (University of Montreal) situated in 7077 avenue Park.

Tenth anniversary symposium of BRAMS
You are cordially invited to join BRAMS co-directors Isabelle Peretz and Robert Zatorre, and their colleagues and students, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the lab.
Over the last decade BRAMS has grown and prospered to become one of the well-recognized groups worldwide for research on music, speech, and human auditory cognitive neuroscience. In this anniversary symposium we have invited several prominent scientists to help us think about where the next ten years of research should be taking us. To that end we will cover novel topics including genetics, education, aging, and social neuroscience.
The anniversary event will also feature a session organized by the Erasmus Mundus program in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience, featuring faculty and student presentations from this network representing ten European countries, Canada, and the USA.

Workshop entitled “Central Gating of Tinnitus and Chronic Pain”
Organized by professor Josef P. Rauschecker from the Laboratory of Integrative Neurosciences and Cognition (Georgetown University), assisted by professor Markus Ploner from the Neuroimaging Center at Technische Universität München, this activity will take place on September 7th and 8th 2015 in Munich, Germany, in the “Klinikum Rechts der Isar”.
Sylvie Hébert, PhD., will present “Non-auditory facets of tinnitus” on first day of this event.

Annual event – Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologiste du Québec

During this event, Sylvie Hébert, PhD, will present: ” Tinnitus, new perspectives “. This training aims to summarize the knowledge and the current models of tinnitus, besides guiding the clinicians in their interventions.
TRI Tinnitus Conference
The 9th Annual International TRI Tinnitus Symposium will take place in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It will be three days of stimulating and educating talks and discussions. It will explore basic mechanisms underlying tinnitus including cochlear damage consequences, synaptic plasticity, non-auditory (limbic, attentional, somatosensory) networks, as well as many areas of translational research. Invited speakers include world experts from around the globe within and outside of the field of tinnitus. Sylvie Hébert, PhD will participate to the event as an invited discussant. She will also present two oral papers.

Board Meeting – Acouphènes Québec
Acouphènes Québec is a non-profit organism for people suffering from tinnitus. Established in 1983 by a volunteers group, the organism aims to support people suffering from this problem, inform about the current state of knowledge in the domain and promote the multidisciplinary researches in Quebec.
The next board meeting will take place on May 23rd, 2015. Sylvie Hébert, Ph. D. sits as administrator.

Lecture – “Tinnitus, new perspectives”

The scientific knowledge about tinnitus enormously evolved during the last decade. At the same time, several new interventions are used and are under evaluation. This training aims to summarize the current models of tinnitus and to guide the clinicians in their interventions with tinnitus patients.
